New York Tartan Day Parade – 2016

Scottish Person BagPipe

18th Annual New York Tartan Day Parade

Taking place on Saturday, April 9, 2016

Beginning at 2:00 pm

Begins at 44th Street and Sixth Avenue and continues up to 55th Street.

We’ve been to one instance of this annual parade and if you enjoy the sounds of drums and bagpipes then you’re in for a big treat; since this parade is chock full of just that. Group after Group of musical performers (drummers and bagpipers) will march along proudly for all to see.

Previously the Line Up took place 1:00 pm on the side streets around 6th Avenue and West 45th Street.

Mind you, Tartan Day (or rather Tartan Week in NYC) is a celebration of Scottish Heritage. The United States Senate recognized April 6 as Tartan Day in 1998.
